(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, DECEMBER 15 - Big Tech companies could face fines of up to 10% of their annual income if they do not comply with the new EU rules on the use of data, competition and moderation of online content. This was announced by the European Commission by presenting its new package to regulate the digital market.
The EU executive requires fines of up to 10% of annual turnover for large platforms guilty of deliberately flying competition, and fines of up to 6% of global competitors for those who fail to comply with the obligations to moderate and remove terrorist propaganda and other illegal content published by users.
