Oil prices are boosted by the prospect of a recovery in demand due to the restart of the global economy.

The price of Brent crossed the $ 70 mark on Monday for the first time since May 2019, after the attack on the giant Aramco's facilities in Saudi Arabia and amid optimism about a global economic recovery.

The barrel of black gold from the North Sea gained 2.11% on Monday to 70.89 dollars.

The price of Brent has been trending upward for several weeks.

A month ago, it had surpassed $ 60, for the first time in more than a year, boosted by prospects of recovering demand for oil due to the rebound in the global economy.

Shrapnel from a ballistic missile fell near the Saudi Aramco residential area in the town of Dahran, where thousands of company employees and their families live, with no casualties or damage , according to the Saudi Ministry of Energy.
