- Höhenkirchen's mayor Mindy Konwitschny (SPD), in office since May 2020, has recently raised a lot of dust in the town hall of Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn.
After projects stalled in the spring due to staff shortages and a pandemic, the administration and the municipal council initiated a lot in the second half of the year.
This year too, they want to make progress on important issues.
The community wants to offer more service.
In a first step, the administration was therefore restructured.
As of now there are four business areas.
With division 3 "Citizen Service, Security and Order", numerous services for the people of Höhenkirchen and Siegertsbrunn are under one roof.
The child and youth department was newly created, which is responsible, among other things, for the care facilities and schools on site.
The new administrative structure and the associated new phone numbers for town hall employees can be viewed on the community website.
Digitization is also advancing: a town hall service portal is to be launched by the end of the first quarter.
Citizens can then apply for their passport online or register their offspring for a place in kindergarten.
Payments should be possible via online payment services.

According to Konwitschny, a lot depends on the decision of the school administration association for the new secondary school location.
Only when it has been decided whether the Realschule will go to Hohenbrunn or at least next to the Erich Kästner School in Höhenkirchen can a long-term decision be made about the future of the Erich Kästner School, which is partly outdated and has too few rooms.
The containers as an interim solution should be set up by the new school year.
The next step is the expansion of the grammar school.
But even if important decisions have been made, Konwitschny does not believe that construction will start in 2021. "A lot has to be put out to tender first."
Construction projects
The Siegertsbrunn fire helpers are longingly waiting for their new fire equipment house.
The new building could be ready at the end of the year, and the comrades will move in January.
"We are right on schedule and on budget," says Konwitschny.
This is also how it looks with the construction of the children's home on Ostersteigstrasse.
The facility will be opened for the new childcare year.
There is also progress in the renovation of the old pharmacy.
According to Tanja Englbrecht, work should start in March, if everything goes according to plan.
The building authority manager expects a construction time of one and a half years.
The renovation of the multi-purpose hall is also being pushed ahead.
A concrete schedule has not yet been set.

Transport and the environment
The optimization of traffic routes remains an urgent topic in the area.
The municipal council and administration now want to develop a comprehensive traffic concept based on previous data and new analyzes - with the aim of reducing the traffic load for citizens and promoting inner-city cycling.
That is why the planned construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Rosenheimer / Brunnthaler Strasse is being postponed for the time being.
The energy transition and climate protection are also very important.
The results of the investigations for the wind power plans in the Höhenkirchen forest are to be presented in spring.
In addition, students from the University of Applied Sciences in Munich are preparing an energy usage plan for the site.
The new Environment, Energy and Transport Committee will have a lot to do this year.
Festivals and Celebrations
After the lockdown year 2020, there is actually a lot to catch up on in terms of festivities and celebrations.
Even the Catholic Parish Association was only able to celebrate its anniversary year 2021 on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of the Church of the Birth of Mary due to the pandemic.
Whether the associated congregation anniversary - the first documentary mention of the congregation goes back to the donation of the Church of the Birth of Mary around 1020 - will at some point be made up for is in the stars.
According to Mayor Konwitschny, it is currently not foreseeable whether the maypole celebrations or the Leonhardi festival can take place.
