The new crown pneumonia epidemic continues. Today (22nd) there are 61 new confirmed cases in Hong Kong. Except for 6 imported cases, 26 of the remaining 55 local cases are of unknown origin, increasing to 9,929 cases.
Zhang Zhujun, director of the Infectious Diseases Division of the Center for Health Protection, said that more than 50 cases were initially confirmed today.
Today, one of the first anniversary of the outbreak of new crown pneumonia in Hong Kong, the cumulative number of cases will approach or even exceed 10,000.
Among the new cases today, 24 were from Yau Tsim Mong District, and 8 of them were in the designated detection area.

26 cases of unknown source of infection accounted for nearly 50% of cases in Japan
Zhang Zhujun, director of the Infectious Diseases Division of the Center for Health Protection, said at the epidemic press conference that of the 61 newly confirmed cases today, 6 were imported cases, and the remaining 55 were local infections, of which 26 were cases of unknown source. It accounts for 47% of local cases.
16 confirmed cases were found at the temporary testing center, 11 of which were from mobile sampling stations and inspection vehicles in Yau Tsim Mong District, and 1 in Sham Shui Po District.
Among the cases of unknown origin, 13 cases live in Yau Tsim Mong and 5 cases come from designated inspection areas.
Zhang Zhujun said that there were 24 confirmed cases living in Yau Tsim Mong District today, of which 8 were from designated testing areas.
A total of 10 residents from 5 units of Kingway Plaza have been diagnosed. Yuan Guoyong, Chair Professor of the Department of Microbiology of the University of Hong Kong, will be present for inspection.

A 66-year-old female diagnosed died and a total of 168 patients died
