The greatest gunner of all time is me, according to Pele.
The Brazilian world champion has in fact updated his Instagram profile celebrating himself as "The greatest scorer of all time (1,238)".
O Rei did not like the alleged overtaking by Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored 757 goals in official matches with Sunday's double against Udinese.
Official statistics assigned Pele 762 official goals: 642 with the Santos shirt, 43 with the Cosmos and 77 in the national team.
A new count, however, would have placed it at 756.
The Brazilian champion, backed by Santos, claims the goals scored with the Paulista national team, with the military one and in friendlies as official. Which brings him to the record figure of 1,283. "Messi and Ronaldo still have a long way to go", jokes the sports site Espn, citing Pele's update on social media.
