Within hours of the beginning of classes in the province of Santa Cruz, the majority union of teachers, Adosac, resolved a

48-hour strike

and mobilizations throughout the province for this Monday in

rejection of the salary offer

of the provincial government.

Educational and health authorities of the Government of Alicia Kirchner announced for the start of the school year a combined system between virtuality in most cities with community transmission of coronavirus,

p

phased and gradual resencialidad in other cities and face total rural schools.

"Without a serious offer, nor compliance with the sanitary, building and labor conditions,

Adosac does not start the 2021 school year

," said the Santa Cruz Teachers Association in a document after an extraordinary congress that rejected an official offer of 10% with assets for March and a similar percentage for July.

Adosac considered "insufficient" the official salary offer it received at the teaching parity meeting on Monday, February 22, and went on to a midterm for March 2.

According to the act, the educational authorities offered to Adosac and the Association of the Teaching of Technical Education (Amet), "to increase the current point value of 123.2592, taking it to 135.5851 with the March assets and 147.9110 with assets for July, which means a real increase of 2% ", and to re-analyze the economic situation in July.

Adosac decided "to continue demanding

a salary offer according to the Santa Cruz family basket

, taking into account the cost of living as a variable."

Amet also reported at the meeting "the rejection of said offer because it is considered insufficient" and requested for the next meeting, "that the percentages and time limits be re-analyzed because they are below inflation."

This situation occurs in the middle of an

educational crisis

that Santa Cruz has been experiencing for years.

A month ago a report was released stating that students who finished primary school last year

went to school for only four years of the seven years of schooling

, while those who graduated from secondary school were in class for only two years and three months .

The data comes from a study carried out by Gabriel Ruiz, lawyer and university professor, magister in Philosophy of Law and specialist in Right to Education, at the request of the PRO controller in Santa Cruz, Silvana Giudici.

Thus, it reveals that between 2014 and 2020 - all years governed by Kirchnerism, the first two with Daniel Peralta as governor and the rest of Alicia Kirchner - primary school students went to class

723 days out of a total of 1,260

.

And those from high school attended 407 out of 900. The worst years were 2017 and 2018. In the first, on 180 calendar days there were only 63 with boys in the classrooms.

And in 2018, 102.
