The “Smile” campaign held an artistic event this evening aimed at children of orphans and cancer patients. It included playing music and showing two short films about these two children's segments, in addition to honoring the great artists Duraid Lahham, Bassam Kousa and Ghassan Masoud.

The young director of the short film about the children of cancer patients, Rahaf Kreidi, the representative of the company organizing the event, said in a statement to SANA, “This event highlights two important groups of children: orphans and cancer patients who need every person in the community to stand by and support them,” indicating that she completed her film to deliver a message To all childhood cancer patients that they are able to overcome their war with disease until they reach a cure thanks to their willpower.

In turn, Baraa Al-Ayoubi, director of the orphanage, Al-Rahma, explained that a large number of children attended the event to watch the film that was filmed about them and documented their daily life in the home while studying and playing and practicing their activities and hobbies, noting that children in the home are treated as a child within his family with an emphasis on the importance of psychological support for them. To transcend what they are in and be healthy members of society.

The musician Muhammad Zaghloul, the supervisor of the Damascus Orchestra, pointed out that a number of members of the orchestra participated in the event because of its importance, which required special preparation, as it was directed to the segment of children who form the future of society and the basis for building its culture and civilization, indicating that the musicians presented six pieces of music from world cinema to form an important musical memory for these Children and to lift their spirits through music.

The event was attended by the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Salwa Abdullah, the Iranian ambassador to Damascus, Jawad Turkabadi, and a crowd of artists, media professionals and interested parties. During the event, a short film about each of the honored artists was shown, as well as the distribution of gifts to the participating children.
