The SPD at Tegernsee wants to make the Tegernsee valley fit for cyclists.

The city council dealt with it, but could only bring itself to one of three measures.

Tegernsee -

"The Tegernsee valley - fit for cyclists" is an initiative of the SPD town council at Tegernsee.

They propose the creation of standardized “Tegernsee valley bicycle racks” and the introduction of a “Tegernsee valley bicycle evening” in which the mayor and administration report on the measures and plans to promote bicycle traffic.

And they want the introduction of Tempo 30 to be examined in order to improve safety for all road users.

At the joint mayor's meeting, all Talchefs had already dealt with the application, the Tegernsee Transport Committee had recently given a recommendation after extensive discussion, which was now also before the entire city council.

The committee therefore only considered the testing of Tempo 30 in the center and Tegernsee-Süd to be sensible.

Thomas Mandl (SPD), co-initiator of the application, initially thanked for the seriousness with which the application was being pursued.

Although he thought the introduction of the bike racks and the bike evening was just as important, he thought that testing at 30 km / h would be “a start”.

Tempo 30 in Tegernsee: "Valley thought must be the tenor"

Mayor Johannes Hagn (CSU) referred to a number of problems associated with Tempo 30.

There should be no public buses and no zebra crossings.

However, it is possible to think about Tempo 30 between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. between St. Quirin and Rottach-Egern, which would be an effective means for more noise protection.

However, Tegernsee had to coordinate this discussion with Bad Wiessee so that as a result, their passage through town would not be burdened.

“The valley thought must be the tenor,” says Hagn.

"Speed limit at night is nice, but there are relatively few cyclists on the road," said Rudolf Gritsch (CSU).

He welcomed the fact that in the center and off the main road Tempo 30 should be checked.

“That increases the safety for everyone who doesn't dare to ride a bike because of the cramped conditions.” Gritsch referred to the many cities and communities that had introduced Tempo 30.

The objection of the district office, responsible for the federal highway, "can no longer be accepted," said Gritsch.

Then they voted.

The purchase of bike racks was postponed (unanimously), there should be no one against (12: 4), the introduction of Tempo 30 in the local area should be examined (one vote against).
