It's incomprehensible.
Why does the government refuse, via its intermediaries to the National Assembly, to integrate into the law
"reinforcing republican principles"
a provision prohibiting the Islamic veil for little girls?
Yet it is difficult to deny that such a practice separates the unfortunate children who are victims of it from the rest of society.
However, the purpose of this law is precisely to fight against separatism.
So where is the consistency?

To justify its decision, the government invokes respect for religious freedom, but should we really tolerate everything in the name of this principle?
We know the theological justification for the veil: to protect Muslim women from the sexual desire of men.
This rule is already questionable for an adult but it is really unbearable for girls who are sometimes less than 5 years old.
Its ban would be nothing more than a child protection measure.
