The performances of the third central theater festival of the Baath Vanguards Organization kicked off on the stage of the Cultural Center theater in Tartous, with the participation of 28 groups from different governorates.

The festival was inaugurated with the play “The Rural Wedding” written by Kamal Abdel Karim and trained by Anas Harfoush and directed by Nasr Maghamis.

Festival director Waddah Sawas pointed out in a statement to SANA that a method has been adopted in the distribution of festival prizes that simulates what is followed in international festivals by presenting golden shields to the participating teams in addition to 9 awards for the best performance and performance of an actor and directing with the honor of the artist Wafaa Mousli at the closing ceremony in appreciation of her distinguished role Children's theater.

For his part, Secretary of the Baath Vanguards Organization branch in Tartous Issa Oweijan considered in a similar statement that the festival constitutes a national situation through theatrical performances by Syrian children to express their love for the country and its leadership and for this organization, explaining that the festival performances will be held in cultural centers in the villages of the province in addition to some public and private schools In the city so everyone can see it.

Director Firas Al-Muqbel from the Daraa branch, who is participating for the first time in the festival, talked about his theatrical work “The Adventures of a Watermelon and an Ant”, which is included under an adult theater for children, and talks about the kindness and tolerance of the Syrian man through the story of a stranger who came to a village to seize the water well in it and control its inhabitants Those who reveal his plot and forgive him to return to his senses.

Director Muhammad Fa'uriyya from the Daraa branch explained that his second participation in the festival came through the show “The Tree of Elfs”, which is a kind of theater for young children, considering that the festival is an opportunity for Syrian children to meet in one place so that each person presents a vision or idea within a theatrical template that develops the child's personality and gains self-confidence.

Director Heba Al-Aridi from the Sweida branch, who participates for the first time, presented a theatrical vision in which it merged between reality and imagination through a young children's work titled "The Book of Wonders", pointing out that her second participation in the festival is an opportunity to develop works and exchange ideas between the participating teams, which enhances and builds the child's theatrical character and drives him To improve its performance and better serve the business idea.

Children Khader Saleh and Judy Khader from the Tartous branch and Hashem Mahzam from the Daraa branch, who participate in the festival’s performances, expressed their happiness with this experience by embodying lovable personalities and ideas to spread the values ​​of goodness, tolerance and humanity. Each of the Ministry of Culture, Information, Education, Health and Tourism participated in the festival, which lasts for three days, in addition to Artists Syndicate for the first time in management and arbitration.
