In second place is Fiat's new 500
As every year, 59 European judges gather to choose the car of the year.
This year the jury gave Yaris 266 points and 14 voted her best.
In second place was the new Fiat 500 which received 240 points and 9 chose it as the best.

Down the table were the Copra Formentor (239 points), Volkswagen ID.3 (224 points), Skoda Octavia (199 points), Land Rover Defender (164 points) and Citroen C4 (143 points).
Cars like the Audi A3, BMW 4 Series and Mercedes S-Class did not qualify for the last round of voting.
Among the reasons given by the judges for winning the Yaris were appearance and quality, safety and comfort equipment as well as low performance and pollution. This is the second time that European car journalists have given Yaris the crown of the car of the year on the continent. The previous time was in 2000, when the first generation of the Yaris won the competition.
