Israel is considered a pioneer in many areas related to the research and development of medical cannabis products, but regulation in Israel still makes it difficult to export and the fear among many in the field is that until the bureaucratic barriers are resolved, other leading countries will achieve this profit.

It now seems that Togder, one of the leaders in the field, has found a way to export to Europe, though not through Israel.

A breeding farm in Uganda has been successfully tested by an EU-GMP plant in Germany, following which Togder announced that following a November 2020 report on the signing of a cooperation agreement with a German corporation, the corporation informed it that the Uganda farm certification as a certified supplier to the corporation had been completed.

Chen and Or in Germany

This means that the German corporation checked and found that the farm in Uganda meets the appropriate requirements for the supply of raw material for distribution, through the plant of the German corporation, to pharmacies in Germany.

Subsequently, the German corporation will work to obtain a license to import the produce from the company's farm in Uganda to Germany.

The produce from the farm in Uganda will be processed into medical cannabis products under the EU-GMP standard, for distribution in the German market.

In the first phase, it was agreed that the inflorescences that the company will market in Germany will be the POWER PLANT variety, which is marketed in Israel under the trade name "Chen", and the Glueberry variety, which is marketed in Israel under the trade name "Or".

Leads in cannabis production

Today, the products of the medical cannabis company Togder are sold in pharmacies in the country, including in the Super Pharm chain.

The company recently announced that its local plant in the Ashkelon area has received approval to pass the infrastructure test.

After the operation and with the transition to self-production without third-party involvement, a further increase in the company's profitability is also expected as a result of additional developments of local varieties.

The plant will serve the needs of the company and will also provide services to other medical cannabis companies.

Togder CEO

Nissim Bracha:

“Togder is implementing another milestone in its global strategic work for the year of the 2021.1.

The meaning is broad and allows for additional cash flow from operations in Uganda, alongside operations in the local market in Israel.

In addition, the move positions the company and contributes to establishing its position as a leader in the production and marketing of medical cannabis products in the global market. "
