The severe cold wave that is hitting the United States is of great concern to the American Coast Guard forces rescuing many people who are stuck in the ice.

Yesterday (Monday) U.S. Coast Guard forces and legs moved in Cleveland toward the frozen lake, Lake Erie, after a group of hikers, including children, hiking on the ice caused it to crack and get trapped inside the large lake.

The initial report to the U.S. Coast Guard national forces that ten people were trapped in the frozen lake arrived in the afternoon. Upon receiving the announcement, four different U.S. military rescue agencies went to the scene, including a rescue squad and firefighters.

Ten hikers were identified in the area, including three children.

Six were rescued by a force that arrived with skiers from the Detroit city area.

The other four were released by the Coast Guard who came from Cleveland.

The Cleveland Coast Guard commander said, "In the coming days there will be extreme frost conditions in the lake so some of it will be frozen, but it's a mistake and more than once sections of ice are cut off from the outside and people are trapped on them very dangerously.

The forces reiterated yesterday how dangerous an Irish lake is in winter, despite the ice cap on it.

In fact over the years the U.S. Coast Guard has often had to rescue people who almost drowned in the lake due to the hatching of ice under their feet.

To illustrate the danger, in 2019 the forces rescued 46 fishermen from the lake in a number of incidents during the winter.

A more extreme event, occurred in 2009, when a large group of 134 fishermen got stuck in the lake, which led to a huge rescue operation that grabbed headlines even in the national American media that closely accompanied the complex event.

Lake "Irish Lake", located between the cities of Cleveland, Ireland and Buffalo, is the 13th largest in the world.

The U.S. shares its territory with Canada and is therefore under the supervision of the U.S. military and the National Coast Guard.
