With 6G life size holograms and 'Tera Economy'

While waiting for the spread of 5G, there is already talk of 6G, the sixth generation connection that is closer than you think.

To be launched by 2030, it will boost certain economic sectors such as to give life to the scenario of a 'Tera Economy', a term coined by the tech analysis agency Counterpoint.

On top of the applications that more than others will benefit from 6G are autonomous driving, the integration of artificial intelligence into Internet of Things devices and, above all, the 3D worlds of virtual and augmented reality.

"A simple full-body full-body 3D hologram will require bandwidth in Tbps (Terabits per second) to be correctly displayed - analysts point out - with advanced compression techniques 6G architecture and related radio capabilities we should aim to transmit this hologram high resolution on a mobile link. This will extend reality beyond space and transform the way we communicate with each other, "analysts say.

6G interests us closely, given that Italy, with the University of Pisa and the Polytechnic of Turin, is among the first countries to experiment with what is described in Hexa-X.

It is the European Union program funded with 12 million euros that involves 25 continental partners, including Ericsson, Nokia, Intel, and which intends to carry out tests on 6G in order to catch up with China and the United States, in the race to the next network standard.
