It was around four o'clock in the morning on June 9, when a fire, the origin of which remains to be determined, spread within the home of a family in La Courneuve.

No injuries are to be deplored.

The material damage, on the other hand, is dramatic.

The little house, now unlivable, was completely burnt from the inside, causing its occupants to be relocated as a matter of urgency to public housing.

This family is that of Azim, a young high school student in the final year of the Le Corbusier high school in Aubervilliers.

The 18-year-old boy has lost everything in history.

All of his personal effects, his clothes, his computer, his books, his textbooks and his dishes, were charred.

Returning to his school a few days later, the young man was surprised to learn that several thousand euros had been collected by his comrades to help him.

Since the fire, the students of the Lycée Le Corbusier, in association with the teaching staff, have set up a kitty in order to allow Azim to buy back his lost belongings.

Azim is "embarrassed to receive so much money from strangers, but very touched"

“Basically, we just wanted the students in our class to put ten euros in a box,” explains Kamilia, the Azim class delegate behind the initiative. our class wanted to participate, we opened an online prize pool, and we started sharing it on social networks.

It has taken on incredible proportions.

In less than a week, nearly 2,000 euros were collected on the PayPal platform.

First within high school and then in increasingly large outside circles, the pot was widely relayed on social networks, in particular on the Snapchat application.

The high school students also entered into a relationship with the parents of the school's students, always with a view to sharing the initiative as much as possible.

According to his comrades, Azim is "embarrassed to receive so much money from strangers, but very touched".

This outpouring of solidarity does not stop at simple financial support.

Many people volunteered to donate crockery and furniture.

A large clothing drive was organized by the school, which was ultimately compromised because of the health situation.

“In fact, we all put ourselves in his shoes, and we understood that it could happen to anyone,” continues Kamilia. Azim is an 18-year-old boy, in his final year, who has things he cares about, he is like all of us. And to know that it happened to him suddenly, it shocked us. It is an absolutely incredible solidarity movement. "
