"Real genius": US music legend Jim Steinman is dead - he wrote several world hits

The US composer Jim Steinman is responsible for a number of world hits in music history.

Now he has died at the age of 73.

Singer Tyler wrote on her Facebook page that she was "absolutely depressed" by the news.

"Jim wrote some of the most legendary rock songs of all time, and I had the extreme privilege of getting some of them." Steinman was a "real genius" and was also "funny, loving, supportive and a really compassionate person."
