The survival thriller series "Squid Game" unexpectedly became a Netflix hit.
The creator of the series now reveals how things stand for the second season.
The fans are screaming for a sequel - but currently nothing seems to be planned. The question arises: Is the Netflix hit in danger - or rather the second season of “Squid Game” *? The success of the fictional game show came as surprising to Hwang Dong-hyuk, the series' creator, as it did to viewers and even Netflix. "Squid Game" could even be more successful than "Bridgerton" and the best Netflix series of all time. If so, it would mean that more than 82 million viewers have seen the South Korean series within a month of its launch.
So it should be clear that Netflix would like to immediately follow up on the success.
Still, the streaming service doesn't seem to be putting any pressure on Hwang Dong-hyuk.
In an interview with the US magazine Vulture, Bela Bajara, Global TV Chief at Netflix, explains: “
