Sculpting your body: this is the motto of many women as soon as summer strikes.
To relieve the complex and guilt of the latter in the face of “body summer”, a phenomenon that has won over all layers of society, the Spanish government launched on social networks, on Wednesday July 27, a campaign entitled “Summer is ours”.
With this initiative, the country intends to challenge the standards of beauty, in order to encourage all women to love themselves and to wear swimsuits on the beach, regardless of their height, weight and morphology.
On the poster, shared by the Spanish Minister for Social Rights, Ione Belarra, appears different profiles of women, smiling and in bathing suits at the beach.
One has had a mastectomy and only has one breast, another has pink hair and is overweight, a third bears her leg hair and stretch marks.

“Free, equal and diverse”
This campaign was launched under the impetus of the Women's Institute, a body directly dependent on the Ministry of Equality, which also tweeted the image followed by this caption: "Bodies are diverse, free from gender stereotypes, and occupy all the spaces.
Summer belongs to us too.

To support the project, the hashtag "summer is ours" has also circulated in recent days on social networks, against the current of the pages of women's magazines touting "bikini operations" as the holidays approach.

If the "Summer is ours" campaign has generated many positive reactions, others, like Cayo Lara, former secretary general of Izquierda Unida, a left-wing coalition integrated into the radical left party Podemos, expressed their disagreement.
Responding to Equality Minister Irene Montero, who had just posted a tweet about the campaign (captioned "all bodies are valid and we all have the right to enjoy life, without guilt or shame"), Cayo Lara felt that we had "created a problem where there was none".
The Podemos party then replied from its official account: “if the bodies bother you, you can always stay at home to twitter, without any worries”.
