Smart bracelets that make rides on e-scooters safer: With Flasher, a duo from Austria was able to convince in "Die Höhle der Löwen".

Update from September 20, 2022, 9:01 a.m .:

Not every product can inspire investors in “The Lion’s Den” (Vox) – but Flasher caused real enthusiasm on the TV show.

This is a set of two bracelets that e-scooter drivers can use as turn signals and brake lights - cyclists should also be able to use flashers.

The product was developed by Alexander Rech and Ines Wöckl from the Austrian city of Graz.

Their goal was to get 150,000 euros from the investors for ten percent of their shares in the company.

In fact, the Austrian duo got a deal for 150,000 euros on the show – however, Ralf Dümmel and Carsten Maschmeyer demanded double the company shares: namely 20 percent.

With this deal, the two investors outperformed the competing offers from Judith Williams and Nils Glagau.

The money is now to be used to advance the internationalization of the start-up from Graz.

It may also be possible to reduce the price of the flasher set a little - because the 189 euros estimated on the company's website is relatively high - even the special offer of 169 euros offered shortly after the broadcast is still quite lavish.

First report from September 19, 2022, 4:30 p.m.:

The extreme hype surrounding e-scooters is now a few years back: numerous providers flooded the city centers with their rental scooters in 2019 – where they were at least partly a great annoyance became.

In the meantime, the fuss about the then new technology has clearly subsided, but many people still use the small electric speedsters.

However, the electric scooters are anything but harmless.

– and you don't have to drive it on the Autobahn first.

An invention called Flasher is now intended to make e-scooter rides safer – especially at night.

The product is intended to convince the investors in "The Lion's Den" (Vox).

"The Lion's Den" (Vox): Blinker bracelet Flasher to make e-scooters safer

Flasher was developed by Alexander Rech and Ines Wöckl from the Austrian city of Graz.

Your product consists of two luminous wristbands that have an integrated turn signal and brake light function.

As the two explain, hand signals are difficult on an e-scooter because otherwise you quickly lose your balance as a driver.

And in the event of heavy braking, the driver behind is not warned.

For this reason, the two have developed the "smart" security bracelets.

"The Lion's Den" (Vox): Flasher blinker is triggered by a simple arm movement

Thanks to a snap mechanism, the bracelets can supposedly be put on quickly - and are just as quickly ready for use at the push of a button.

The indicators are activated by simple arm movements - your hands can remain on the handlebars.

When braking hard, the bangles flash red towards the rear.

An additional night mode is designed to make drivers more visible in the dark.

Of course, cyclists can also wear the flasher bracelets - but they have their price: according to the website, a flasher set costs 189 euros.

The product is to be delivered from December.

"The Lion's Den" (Vox): The Flasher founders want this deal

The duo would now like to place their flasher in stationary retail – and add further product ideas in the future.

The two Austrians are therefore looking for an investment of 150,000 euros - in return they are offering ten percent of their company shares.

You can see whether an investor responds to the offer on Monday evening at 8:15 p.m. on VOX or RTL Plus.

The e-bike product recently presented in a program - from Hopper Mobility - did not get a deal.
