Jack Wilshere talks about Yossi Benyon in an interview for Sports1 (Sports1)
Yossi Benyon is probably the most successful Israeli footballer of all time, and now he holds another unofficial title awarded to him in England: the beautiful goal scorer in the history of pre-season games.
This is a goal scored by Benayoun in 2011, in Chelsea's training match against Wicomb Wanderers of the third division in England.
In the fourth minute of the game, Benyon received a ball from Mediya Drogba, bounced twice on the heel, once more on the chest, then the ball was still in the air, bounced one last time with the help of the heel over the goalkeeper, and raised the Blues to a 0: 1 advantage.
It was Andre Villas skunk's first game as Chelsea coach, and Benayoun's miraculous performance gave hope that he would fit in ideally with the Portuguese coach.
It did not happen at the end of a break, and he made just 24 appearances in Chelsea uniform but provided at least one magical moment.

"If this goal had been scored in an official game, it would have been a competitor mentioned to this day as one of the greatest goals of all time," wrote the Givemesport website, which described Benyon as "one of the most underrated Premier League players of the modern age."
As a reminder, apart from the less successful tenure at Chelsea, Benayoun recorded an impressive career in England, first in the West Ham uniform to which he moved from Racing Santander, then in Liverpool in the media he scored 29 goals and netted 19 in 134 appearances spread over three seasons.
