"We look every day if it has changed": in Essonne, owners of cracked houses take legal action

A long dead-end alley, lined with greenery, leads to the small Ardoisiers housing estate, a little away from Brétigny-sur-Orge (Essonne).

There, 37 houses surrounded by well-kept gardens are placed next to each other.

From a distance, they all look alike.

However, a big difference now exists between the pavilions: "There are those that are already cracked and those that are not yet," says Aboubakary Coulibaly, 42, one of the owners.

He points to the gaping holes in the roughcast facade of his house, cracked like half of those in the housing estate.
