New change in the news formats of the major TV stations: Aline Abboud, previously at ZDF, is to take over the moderation of the ARD “Tagesthemen”, as reported by “Bild am Sonntag” and “Süddeutsche Zeitung”.
Abboud would be the successor to Pinar Atalay, who in turn will switch to RTL in August.
The NDR responsible for the »Tagesthemen« has not yet officially confirmed the personnel.
Abboud is currently the ZDF editor in the »heute« editorial team and moderates, among other things, the late news program »heute Xpress«.
She also works as a reporter for the »Auslandsjournal«.
Abboud would be the first »Tagesthemen« presenter to come from the new federal states - she was born in 1988 in the then GDR capital East Berlin as the daughter of a German and a Lebanese.
She studied Arabic studies in Leipzig, from 2014 to 2016 she completed a traineeship in the internet editorial office of the German Bundestag.
She then switched to the social media editor for »ZDF Donnerstalk«, moderated by Dunja Hayali.
