LE FIGARO RESPONDS - Not so fast! Even if the European Union recommends ending the wearing of masks in transport, some countries maintain this obligation. We tell you everything.

Hello, I have to fly to Greece next month.

France no longer requires wearing a mask, neither does the EU, but if it is compulsory in Greece, will I have to wear it during my flight?

Alexander, 32 years old

Dear reader,

You are right not to rejoice too quickly!

Even if France and the European Union no longer impose it, you should still be forced to wear a mask during your flight to Greece.

Although, on May 16, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) announced the lifting of the wearing of masks in transport, several countries of the Union maintain this obligation on their territory.

This is the case of Greece, therefore, but also of Spain, Austria, Portugal, Cyprus, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Malta, Luxembourg, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia .

In principle, no need for a mask to fly to other countries of the European Union, nor to the United Kingdom.

But, in the rest of the world, it remains taxed in almost all cases.

Note that these rules also apply in cross-border trains.

Please note, however, that these conditions may change overnight.

It is therefore recommended to inquire on the site of the local authorities before your trip.
