The citizens of Langenbach really stepped on the pedals during the city cycling campaign.

And there was a reason for that: the proceeds from the event went to the Langenbach kindergarten association.

Langenbach -

Often something new when it comes to city cycling: In Langenbach this year sponsors were able to be won for a bike bonus of ten cents per kilometer.

The citizens pedaled hard, after all the proceeds went to the kindergarten association.

Environment advisor Verena Juranowitsch, economic advisor Josef Wüst and association advisor Eva Maria Bucksch had the idea for the campaign.

Together, the local companies have really raised the bar.

In the end, seven companies agreed to pay the mileage bonus.

So - much to the delight of Stadradeln organizer Verena Juranowitsch and Mayor Susanne Hoyer - 2700 euros were raised.

This was thanks to a previously untroubled performance of a total of 25,718 kilometers.

A new record is 25,700 kilometers

“We have improved,” said a delighted Juranowitsch when he handed over the check to the Alten Wirt on Tuesday.

In 2019 it was a good 10,000 kilometers, in 2020 it was 15,000 kilometers and this year it was a good 25,700 kilometers that you cycled down in Langenbach.

Juranowitsch did not want to rule out that the kilometer bonus played a role.

The fact is, however, that this year it wasn't necessarily about who, personally or in a group, unwound the most kilometers within three weeks, but that it was for a local and good cause.

Donation will be distributed to the three Langenbach kindergartens

The representatives of the kindergarten association, secretary Andrea Hermann and treasurer Maik Moses were very happy. The money will be distributed to the three kindergartens - according to the association's purpose - and will be spent there on toys and things that make everyday life easier for the children, as Moses explained when the money was handed over.

Mayor Susanne Hoyer was enthusiastic about the result and how it came about.

“Megacool”, she judged about the idea with the ten-cent bonus and the kilometers achieved together.

This is one of the reasons why the Langenbachers “cycled so well”, speculated the town hall chief.

Although there was still room for improvement among the lords of creation, Hoyer reprimanded.

A good ten percent more women than men would have jumped on the saddle.

But that is not enough of the criticism: The parliamentarians' team, i.e. the municipal council, found that only four women had worked hard for city cycling.

“Rednecks” were the hardest-working cyclists

After all, Hoyer counted the “Rednecks” with over 5500 kilometers to be one of the hardest-working cyclists.

Closely followed by the "Hummiger Isarradlers" with 5200 kilometers and the cyclists from Amselweg with 4200 kilometers.

According to Hoyer, if you calculated exactly, you could see that the amount was rounded up slightly.

Not least because of this, the town hall chief thanked all those involved and sponsors.

The latter include the Stadt- und Kreissparkasse Moosburg, Kfz -teile Optimal, the butcher Keller, the construction company Würfl, Ullstein Concepts GmbH, the Malven Apotheke and Kfz-Huber.
