From behind the scenes at the Élysée, the journalist tells how the President of the Republic faced an unprecedented European crisis, supported by his team, but also by his wife.
In his black suit, looking serious, the head of state begins his speech before being interrupted by Brigitte Macron.
“Brigitte, what is it?
Is the tone not good?” he asks her.
“I find that there is no tone… Pardon my heart”, she then replies in a low voice.
Without batting an eyelid, Emmanuel Macron relies on this opinion, which is always precious to him, and declares: "Come on, let's start from the beginning!".

From inside the Élysée, Guy Lagache initially wanted to make accessible a European Union that seemed to him “technical, distant and often incomprehensible”, he declared in an interview for
Le Figaro
.
But this immersion finally took a turn that he did not expect, when the war broke out in Ukraine and he witnessed in real time every detail of the management of the crisis by Emmanuel Macron and his team.
“To be able to film these conversations between Emmanuel Macron and Vladimir Poutine or Volodymyr Zelensky, it took a lot of work”, explains the journalist to our colleagues from the daily newspaper.
