[Legislative Council] The Finance Committee vetoes the exercise of the right of summons to enter into discussions on civil service pay increases

The Finance Committee of the Legislative Council resumed its meeting in the afternoon to continue discussing the issue of summoning officials. After Members spoke, they immediately voted for 6 proposals. Finally, they voted 33 votes in favor and 18 votes against. Summon power, and then decide the details of the summons.

The Finance Committee of the Legislative Council resumed its meeting in the afternoon to continue discussing the issue of summoning officials. After Members spoke, they immediately voted for 6 proposals. Finally, they voted 33 votes in favor and 18 votes against. Summon power, and then decide the details of the summons.

After the plan was approved, the Chairman of the Finance Committee, Chen Jianbo, immediately moved to vote on whether to exercise the summons right described in paragraph 19 of the meeting procedures of the Finance Committee. Finally, 18 votes in favor and 33 votes against were rejected. In other words, the Democratic Party ’s Xu Zhifeng ’s earlier motion to summon Commissioner of Police Deng Bingqiang to attend the Finance Committee meeting will not be processed.

Afterwards, the meeting officially entered into discussions on civil service pay increases. Some people in the government frankly said that it should be difficult to adopt related projects before the Lunar New Year.
