The fire in Ma'anshan Luchao Mountain has not been extinguished for 19 hours since noon yesterday (23rd). In the early hours of this morning (24th), the hilltops were still flaming, the smoke was billowing, and they were quite close to the houses in Fu'an Garden, Xin'an Village and Dashuikeng Village. Sha Tin District Councillor (Dai Shui Hang constituency) said that he had contacted the Home Affairs Department and requested that the shelter be opened at any time for the villagers to move in.

The fire broke out at about 12.09 noon yesterday. The line of fire on Luchao Mountain in Ma'anshan Country Park was once 400 meters long. The government flight service team sent a helicopter to assist in the rescue, but the operation was suspended until last night, and the firefighters were exhausted. Fire extinguishers and back pumps were used for fighting. And around midnight today, there are still two lines of fire about 200 meters and 30 meters, respectively. At about 3 am, the mountain fire has not been extinguished.

There are a number of housing estates and villages nearby, including Fu'an Garden, Xin'an Village and Dashuikeng Village. Many residents stayed up all night because of concerns about the relationship between the mountains and the fire, and kept uploading the latest mountain and fire situation to the social platform. Among them, there was the 15th resident of Fu'an Garden, who photographed the blaze of fire across the hill, densely smoky, and was very close to the housing estate. There were also nearby residents who said that firemen were shooting water at the hillside along the road.

Sha Tin District Councillor (Da Shui Hang constituency) said on Facebook that he had asked the authorities to open the shelter at any time for the affected villagers to move in. "Maanshan fire was burned for more than ten hours. Based on the complex fire environment, firefighters are now I am alerting at the Anshan Discovery Museum. The fire is waiting in the early morning. I will go up the mountain to fight the fire and send a helicopter to fight the fire. I have contacted the Home Affairs Department and asked to open the shelter at any time for the villagers to stay. "

According to the Observatory's data, the weather in Hong Kong was dry. When a mountain fire broke out yesterday, the yellow fire warning signal came into effect. The relative humidity in Shatin was only about 40 to 50 percent, which is close to the "very dry" level of the Observatory. Afterwards, the relative humidity in various areas rose, and the yellow fire warning was cancelled at 7:45 last night. However, the relative humidity in Shatin was still around 60% in the early hours of this morning, which was still a "dry" level.
