Within the framework of Syrian-Russian scientific cooperation, the Russian Cultural Center, in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education, organized an exhibition to introduce Russian universities under the title “Knowledge, Unite… New Opportunities for Higher Education” at Damascus University Conference Hall.

The exhibition, which is attended by representatives from 19 Russian state universities, aims to introduce the education system in Russia and the specializations in its educational institutions in addition to offering free scholarships offered by the Russian government to foreign students.

In a statement to the media, Dr. Vadim Zyachkov, Director of the Russian Cultural Center in Beirut and supervisor of the Center in Damascus that the exhibition is an opportunity to strengthen scientific relations between the two countries and open new horizons for cooperation in the field of exchange of expertise and the preparation of human cadres for reconstruction.

In turn, the President of Damascus University, Dr. Mohammad Maher Qabakibi said that the participating Russian universities are studying about 250 modern scientific specialties that meet the wishes of the students, pointing to the existence of dozens of scientific agreements signed with the Russian universities, which are setting executive programs for them both in the field of scientific research or in the field of exchange of expertise and professors. And students.

Alexei Bukov, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Student Training at the Russian State University of Oil and Gas Gobkin, said the exhibition is a useful initiative for Syrian students and a platform for dialogue between educational and academic institutions in the two friendly countries and to create new opportunities for future cooperation.

During her tour of the exhibition, SANA met with representatives of the participating Russian universities. Alexei Boyda, representative of the University of Friendship of Peoples in Moscow, pointed out that more than 100 Syrian students are studying at the university at the master's and doctoral levels.

From Moscow State Food Industries University, Nikita Makrov pointed out the importance of participating in the exhibition to attract Syrian students known for their diligence and excellence, as well as to promote the universities they represent and the definition of the foundations and standards of study, said: “We have a lot of wonderful Syrian students who participate in most volunteer work and have a special place in The hearts of Russians. ”

For his part, Akram El Khoury, representative of Moscow State Technological University, pointed out that the university includes various engineering specializations in the fields of industrial production, robotics, automation and economics.He said that the exhibition is an important step to expand the possibilities of cooperation in the scientific field between the two countries and provide an opportunity for Syrian students to achieve their ambitions and serve their country when returning to it.

The representative of the Ural Federal University, Anna Ueicher, pointed out that the students' interest in studying at the Ural Federal University has increased since the beginning of the organization of this exhibition two years ago, adding that Syrian students are one of the most diligent students and have a strong desire to learn and that the Ural University has about 4,000 international students from about eighty The country has more than 300 programs.

The representative of Belgorod State University, Alexandra Kaneshiva, said that her university took part last year in the exhibition, which she sees as a good opportunity to introduce the opportunities of study in Russia, expressing her pleasure to see many Syrian students interested in knowing what the Russian universities offer, pointing to the admission of 20 Syrian students this year. To study at the university including five in the graduate program.

In turn, a number of students expressed their desire to pursue their education in Russian universities, where both students Munib Talal and Salim Shibli of the Faculty of Information Engineering, University of Damascus, they want to study master in Russia as advanced in the field of informatics and that the exhibition is an opportunity to see the mechanisms of presentation and the advantages of each university.

A graduate of pharmacy from Damascus University, Ranim al-Khader, said that she got enough information about the participating Russian universities and the specialties available in them, as well as on the cities and regions in them.
