A magnitude 1.4 earthquake near Cheung Chau received more than ten citizens reporting that the vibration lasted for several seconds

The Observatory said that a magnitude 1.4 earthquake occurred near Cheung Chau at 12:22 pm today (5th). The epicenter was about 16 kilometers southwest of the Hong Kong Observatory. The Observatory received reports from more than ten citizens, saying that they felt the earthquake and the shaking lasted for several seconds. Preliminary analysis shows that the earthquake intensity in Hong Kong is the third (three) degree of the revised McGary Earthquake Intensity Scale, that is, the indoor feel is similar to the vibration of a small van.
