Her brand, she said, would be more than a beauty brand but also a way of thinking. Gomez declares: "Beauty is not about how others see you, but about how you see yourself."
Last August, Gomez was reported to have applied for a trademark for her for a range of beauty-related items that would include perfume, skin care cosmetics, hair care products and makeup products. From this it can be understood that Gomez plans to launch a broad line with some categories in the biotic. The products will be sold this summer on the "Sephora" network in North America.

Curiosity among her fans has already begun. "When I heard that Selena was putting out a beauty brand I was really screaming happy and excited, I can't wait," one Instagram fan wrote. Another fan noted, "I know where I'm going to spend my money this summer."
Gomez actually joins a number of famous singers who have entered the biotic world in recent years, including Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Shakira, Brittany Spears and more. In an interview with her as part of promoting the new business, Gomez talked about the long relationship she had for seven years with singer Justin Bieber, noting that she had suffered emotional abuse and was a victim. "I don't want to waste my life telling it. I can say that today I am elsewhere, strong and proud of myself."
