The branch of the Agricultural Cooperative Bank in Skelbieh granted 289 loans worth 241 million and 765 thousand pounds, under the cooperation agreement between the Agricultural Bank and the Social Aid Fund during the current year.
The bank's branch manager Ayman Abu Safra said that the loans included projects for beekeeping, dairy and cheese industry, sewing and food industries from pickles and jams.
Abu Safra pointed out that the loan ceiling is about two million pounds granted in two installments during a period of one month and paid for between 3 and 4 years with a grace period of six months after the start of the project, pointing out the importance of this step in providing care for poor families and promoting capital development as the Fund contributes NBK will have to pay 4% of the loan interest rate of 10% if the loan applicant undertakes to pay his obligations on time.
He pointed out that the branch has granted since the beginning of this year 350 loans worth 417 million and 500 thousand pounds, including social aid loans for micro-projects in addition to granting loans for short-term purposes such as financing the requirements of agricultural production of strategic and major and medium-term crops such as livestock loans and the purchase of tractors and agricultural machinery.
