A 3.8 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale was felt this morning around 7:00 in the northern region. The Geophysical Institute reported that the source of the earthquake was 9 km southwest of Tirat Carmel. According to residents of the area, the earthquake felt well in Tiberias, Haifa and Zichron Yaacov.

About two hundred inquiries were received this morning at the hotline 100 following the earthquake. In the meantime, police vehicles were scoured in the reporting centers and for the time being there were no casualties and no damage.

Call center 100 emphasizes that the public is asked to follow the instructions of the emergency and rescue bodies during an earthquake, including: staying in the building - leaving for open space. If it is not possible to leave the building, enter the room and leave the door and windows open or exit the staircase and continue down to the exit from the building. Only if this is not possible can you take shelter under heavy furniture.
