The transitional government of Sudan, Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk, announced the new cabinet, which included 18 ministries, including four women at the head of the ministries of Foreign Affairs, Higher Education, Labor, Social Development, Youth and Sports.
`` The list of members of the transitional government was agreed upon after consultation between the Sovereign Council and the forces of freedom and change and the components of the political scene in the country, '' Hamdouk told a news conference.
Hamdouk pledged a firm commitment to justice and a foreign policy that would take Sudan's interest first and foremost and be based on good neighborliness, indicating that his government's priorities were "to stop the war and build peace."
Lt. Gen. Abdul Fattah Al Burhan, Chairman of the Sovereign Council in Sudan, issued a constitutional decree approving the names of ministers in the new ministerial formation of the transitional government headed by Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk.
The Transitional Military Council and the forces of freedom and change signed on 17 August the documents of the 39-month transitional period during which they share power and end with elections.
