Atletico Madrid defeated struggling Espanyol 3-1 in the Primera Liga on Saturday.
Espanyol, who have won just two league titles this season, scored their first goal in the 38th minute and Atletico leveled before halftime when Angel Correa turned Murata's cross into the net after reviewing the video assistant referee's technique to make sure there was no offside.
The assistant referee again intervened to cancel Atletico's penalty early in the second half but Murata put his side ahead in the 58th minute when he ran quickly to take Vitolo's pass and turn Diego Diego Lopez with a powerful shot from inside the penalty area.
Cookie added the third in stoppage time when he controlled a Diego Costa pass and hit the net to seal a win that his team desperately needed after five draws in their last six league games and a loss to Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League.
Atletico moved up to third, ahead of Real Sociedad with 24 points from 13 games, one point behind leaders Barcelona and runners-up Real Madrid, but they each played less.
