Two skiers died in an avalanche accident on Mont Blanc. This confirmed a spokesman for the Italian mountain rescue on Saturday.
According to Italian media reports, the slab had come down at an altitude of about 3,000 meters at the Hellbronner Spitze, near the cable car station Courmayeur. the rescue workers were therefore a few minutes after the accident on the ground, but the skiers could only recover dead.
The area near Courmayeur in the Aosta Valley is popular with skiers who go off the slopes. Again and again it comes to fatal accidents. In 2017, three winter athletes died in an avalanche loss.
