2020-02-11T12:58:18.955Z

The assault, filmed and broadcast on social networks, took place overnight from Monday to Tuesday. Rapper Sadek has acknowledged his involvement

On Twitter, his name became a hashtag, and his assault the most commented subject this Tuesday morning. The controversial blogger Bassem Braiki was beaten overnight from Monday to Tuesday in Vénissieux (Rhône) by several people who filmed the scene and posted the images on social networks.

Among his attackers, rapper Sadek, who acknowledged the facts in several videos. According to our information, a flagrant investigation was opened for violence with a gun and in a meeting by the Lyon prosecutor's office on Tuesday morning.

The departmental security of the Rhône, in charge of the investigations, will have to determine the chain of events. According to images posted online last night, Bassem Braiki was punched and hit with a telescopic baton. If he was hospitalized, however, his life is not in danger, according to our information.

Sadek's apologies

The rivalry between the two men could have been born last Saturday. While Sadek, originally from Neuilly-Plaisance (Seine-Saint-Denis), was to perform in Saint-Priest (Rhône), calls to disrupt his show had multiplied on social networks, forcing the organizers to cancel the event, reports Le Progrès. A vehement exchange, still on social networks, was then engaged between the two men, Braiki even inviting the rapper to come see him in person at his home.

In the morning, Sadek finally posted a video on Instagram in which he says he "gave in to violence and hatred like a fool." "I could no longer bear the threats," he justifies himself, while specifying that he will "pay for it" and that he assumes his responsibilities. At noon on Tuesday, he was still active on Twitter, responding in particular to a message from the president of Debout la France, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, who denounced the attack on Bassem Braiki while broadcasting the video of the facts.

The blogger is known for his controversial videos and his involvement in several violent events. In 2016, he notably canceled a concert by rapper Booba in Dardilly, near Lyon, after having caused a fight. In 2018, he made headlines by encouraging a group of young people to dislodge sixteen Roma who were squatting a pavilion in Garges-lès-Gonesse (Val-d'Oise).
