The Conference on Quality and Competitiveness of Food Industries and Exports was launched today at Al-Assad Library in Damascus, organized by the Arab Quality Makers in cooperation with the Center for Management Development and Productivity, the Ministry of Industry and the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry.

The three-day conference will be attended by experts and specialists and national industrial companies from the public and private sectors and will address through 13 sessions, including the methodology of the transition from performance to the quality of performance in food companies and institutions according to international standards and international organizations and bodies concerned with international trade and food quality and safety and the definition of risk analysis system and points Critical control and good manufacturing practices and their role in reducing costs and reducing waste.

Participants will also discuss good laboratory practices, good storage in food establishments, good documentation, cataloging all phases of facilities, risk management, environmental impact control, protection of workers, implementation of food quality and safety systems in Syria in accordance with ISO 22000 and promotion of Syrian food exports.

Minister of Industry Eng. Mohamed Maan Zein Al-Abidin Attracted to the role of the conference in enhancing the expertise of workers in the food industry sector and to identify the correct rules and principles that enhance the quality of the Syrian food product and contribute to increasing exports of food production companies, stressing the quest to support efforts to improve the quality of this product and enhance its quality and quality Local markets and access to global markets and enhance its contribution to the balance of exports.

For his part, Chairman of the Board of Trustees in the Arab Quality Makers, Dr. Mohammad Ghazi Al-Jalali, said that the aim of the conference is to clarify the importance of the classification of the national food product and its accreditation by the international accreditation bodies for ISO certificates and to confirm the practices of quality assurance, safety and security, and commitment to inspection, inspection and testing and enhance the efficiency of the infrastructure of the food industry sector and the skills of its employees. .

For her part, member of the Board of Directors of the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside Marwa Al-Eitouni talked about the challenges facing national products to enhance their presence in international markets and open new markets in light of the increase in the number of international standards that have become concerned with the finer details in order to preserve the health and safety of consumers, which requires the owners of facilities and staff Significant in following up global developments and following the best modern methods in production, packaging and marketing.

Director of the Center for Management Development and Productivity Nibal Bekfelouni pointed to the cooperation and partnership existing between the center and the Arab quality makers based on the tasks of the center in the quality of performance and productivity development in all public sector institutions in Syria.

For her part, Director of the General Organization for Food Industries Reem Hellah saw that the development of food industries is based on continuing production in accordance with the standards and rules of industrialization adopted globally, hoping that the conference will contribute to raising the level of national food industries in preparation for the arrival of exports to all countries of the world, which helps support our trade balance and increase Per capita share of food industrial output
