After the violent death of a three-year-old in Detmold, the police seized the boy's suspect half-sister. The youth had been caught after witnesses in Lemgo by police, said a spokesman for the Bielefeld police.
The investigators, according to a call apparently led to the arrest. "An attentive witness gave the clue to the suspect, who was subsequently arrested by a district service official in Lemgo-Brake," a statement said.
The 15-year-old is suspected of having killed her half-brother in the home with several knife-cuts. Prosecutors and Criminal Investigation had searched for the act on Wednesday night with police officers, service dogs and a helicopter for the fugitive girl.
The body of the killed boy had found a relative, as a police spokeswoman said. She did not say if there were other people in the apartment at the time of the crime. More detailed backgrounds to the deed and a possible motive are not yet known.
Detmold is located in the extreme east of North Rhine-Westphalia, near Bielefeld and Paderborn. The town is with about 70,000 inhabitants, the largest city in the district of Lippe.
