A cleaning lady caused a storm in the net after she revealed she was washing her vacuum cleaner in the bathtub. In photos she shared on a Facebook page devoted to cleaning "Love Mrs. Hinch" issues, she showed us how to disassemble Dyson's vacuum cleaner and put its parts (minus the electric parts) into a bathtub full of water, where she soaked them overnight. She presented the results: murky water that proves how dirty our vacuum cleaners are.

Although there is nothing to argue about the messiness issue, the post created controversy and raised the question - is it right to wash a vacuum cleaner in the water and does it even taste good?

"I'm sorry, but this is a high-level stupidity," one wrote in response, adding: "What? Who the hell washes his vacuum cleaner? I thought only Monica's friends did it and even then she just vacuumed the vacuum." A third person added, "Am I the only one freaking out about this idea?" Others admitted they were also washing their vacuum cleaner like this: "I also washed the vacuum cleaner like this last weekend and it looks and looks like new. I see no problem with it. As long as no electrical parts are put in the bath and make sure the parts dry completely before plugging back in "There's no problem with that."

The controversy is so acute that Dyson has had to intervene - and their answer is unequivocal: definitely not do it. Although this cleaning method does remove all the grime from the machine - and accumulates quite a bit, Dyson warns that washing the cleaner with water can destroy it. Manufacturers claim that the cleaner should be cleaned with a towel and that there is only one part of the cleaner that can be washed without concern: "We do not advise people to expose their vacuum cleaners to the water. They should obey the cleaning instructions provided with the machine when purchased. The only component that can be washed is water. It should be washed every three months to maintain the machine. To clean other components, we recommend using the towel. "
