His father invented the Tetra Pak, he helped make the company big. Now Hans Rausing died at the age of 93 years. He was considered one of the richest people in Britain.

The Swedish billionaire Hans Rausing has died. The son of Tetra Pak inventor Ruben Rausing was 93 years old. He helped make his father's company one of the world's largest food packaging manufacturers.

Hans Rausing had peacefully fallen asleep at the side of his wife Marit in their house in the south of England, said the family. He leaves next to his wife two daughters, Lisbet and Sigrid and a son, Hans Kristian Rausig.

The invented by Hans Rausing's father in 1951 Tetra Paks developed into a success story. The boxes could be easily stacked, sorted and transported. Therefore, they became an effective alternative to glass bottles for drinks.

Rausing inherited in 1983 half of the carton manufacturer Tetra Laval from his father. In 1995, he sold his share for about seven billion dollars to his brother Gad.

In 1982 Rausing moved to the English Wadhurst Park, where he owns land. He was considered one of the richest people in Britain and had a reputation as a philanthropist. His son Hans Kristian made the headlines with his drug addiction, which his sister Sigrid literarily processed.
