The Bahamas have been hit by Dorian winds and heavy rains for several days, with at least five deaths in the Abaco Islands.
The U.S. Hurricane Center (NHC) announced that it had downgraded Dorian to “Category 3”, the third strongest of the five stages, early in the third day.
Dorian expects to move northwest at a slow pace in the late 3rd day and to move northward along the coasts of Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.
In Florida, nine counties were ordered to evacuate, including part of Palm Beach County, where Trump's US Presidential Villa is located, and Governor Desantis urged coastal residents to follow the evacuation order.
On the east coast of the state, some airports and gas stations are closed. Orlando International Airport is scheduled to close at 2 am local time on the 3rd. The theme park “Walt Disney World Resort” <DIS.N> in Orlando will be closed for 3 days.
In South Carolina and Georgia, evacuation orders were issued for some areas, and Governor Northam of Virginia declared an emergency on the 2nd.
