An Israeli startup has developed a wearable handheld robot that allows control of people with disabilities and speech rehabilitation. The product will be piloted in two hospitals and health funds.
The device, from Skelable, is suitable for people who have had strokes, spinal injuries, MS patients, and the like, whose hand is severely damaged. It is triggered by voice commands, which is picked up on the smartphone and transmits it to the robot performing the operation.
With Avi Warner, CEO of Skylabel and his partner Geva Katz, the idea came up following family cases. Warner's mother lost control of the right hand and a similar case was with Katz's father.
To that end, the company has raised more than a million shekels from the Israeli Innovation Authority. However, you received the significant boost after joining the "8200 Impact" program to accelerate social-technology ventures established by IDF 8200 graduates, in cooperation with and funding for the Bank Hapoalim Social Banking Center.
