Juul stops selling fruit

2019-10-17T20:47:25.918Z

In Germany, there is already a ban on the sale of cartridges from the e-cigarette manufacturer Juul. Now, as a precaution, the company has stopped selling certain flavors in the US.

Controversial manufacturer Juul Labs has stopped selling flavored fruit flavored e-cigarettes in the US. Having already suspended distribution to retailers under heavy pressure from supervisors, the company now stopped selling online through its website.

Juul is thus ahead of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which is currently preparing measures for an e-cigarette epidemic among US teenagers and product-related deaths.

President Donald Trump had already announced "very strict" regulations and called the use of e-cigarettes a "big problem". Juul was particularly criticized because of the offensive social media marketing of his products to younger audiences. (Read more about the e-cigarette incidents worldwide here.)

The number of deaths associated with the use of e-cigarettes has recently increased to 26 in the United States. The dead were reported from 21 US states, said the US Department of Health CDC.

In Germany, the Düsseldorf district court recently banned the manufacturer from supplying new cartridges for e-cigarettes. The court had dismissed an objection by the company and affirmed that the cartridges lack labeling.

According to this, there is not only a lack of electronic waste on the cartridges. Also, the brand name Juul must be found there in the future. Juul had again announced an appeal against the decision.
