Lukashenko: uniting global efforts in a systematic and comprehensive war against terrorism

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko called on the international community to unite in the all-out war against terrorism and to start a broad international dialogue on the issue.

"It is time for all countries of the world to join forces in a systematic and comprehensive battle against terrorists and their sponsors and to initiate a broad international dialogue on this," Lukashenko said at the high-level international anti-terrorism conference in Minsk.

Lukashenko pointed out that the techniques used in preparing terrorist attacks are evolving rapidly due to the development of information and technological advances in the world, stressing that "this is an unprecedented challenge to contemporary society and not even the strongest countries can face it alone, regardless of its strength and the development of technologies."

Lukashenko pointed out that Belarus did not withdraw from the treaty of medium and short-range missiles and does not intend to produce or deploy these missiles unless the security of the country is threatened, stressing that the declaration of countries not to deploy medium and short-range missiles in Europe can be a real contribution to the enhancement of European security.

Lukashenko noted that maintaining the treaty would be an important step towards a global dialogue to restore confidence between its parties.
