On the occasion of Christmas, the largest Gregorian cave was opened today in Syria, in the Mar Elias Roman Catholic Church in the town of Kafrbham in Hama countryside, in the presence of official, religious and popular activities.
Father Nabil Nader, pastor of the Roman Catholic Church in Kfarbham, told a SANA correspondent that the opening of the cave is a tradition used by religious and private activities in the town for 12 years, stating that “the cave, which is an extension of the church, contains figures that symbolize Christ and the Virgin, and a number of saints, in addition to the forms of decorations and lanterns Lamps and balloons in many colors.
Nader explained that the cave is witnessing a large number of visitors and guests from all over Syria to offer and exchange congratulations on the occasion of the holidays and continues to open its doors until the fifth of next month, pointing out that the cave this year is an expression of the joys of our people with the victories that have been achieved against terrorism.
George Siddiq, from the people of Kfarbham, pointed out that the cave is part of the heritage of Syria, which is preserved by all its children as one Syrian family celebrating its festivals in the church and the mosque.
May Ziadeh from the people of the town of Kfarabim indicated that the opening of the Gregorian cave today comes after a period of 15 days to prepare and prepare for hosting these celebrations, which include figures and forms inspired by the inspiration of this occasion and from the folklore of the people of the town of Kfarbham
The opening of the cave was attended by the Governor of Hama, Dr. Muhammad Al-Hazouri, and the Secretary of the Hama Branch of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Eng. Ashraf Bashouri, and Bishop John Arbash, Bishop of the Roman Catholic Community in Homs, Hama, and its dependencies.
