(CNN) - One person died and nine others were injured during a knife attack at a subway stop near Lyon, France, BFM TV, a CNN affiliate network, reported on Saturday.
Three victims were seriously injured, the station reported.
A suspect was arrested, according to BFM TV. The reasons for the attack are unknown.
Emergency services at the scene of the knife assault left by a dead person and nine other injuries.
The attack occurred in Villeurbanne, a suburb of the southeastern city of Lyon, around 4:30 pm (local time), the station said. Emergency services responded to an exit at the Laurent Bonnevay stop of the Lyon Metro.
The French authorities have not made any official comments on the assault.
In September, seven people were injured, including two British tourists, during an attack by a man with a knife and an iron bar in northeastern Paris, police said. The assault came after a series of knife attacks in France.
Simon Bouvier and Catherine Norris Trent, both of CNN, contributed to this report.
