Australian world number one Ashley Party today beat Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the Adelaide tournament to prepare for the Australian Open tennis tournament.
Reuters reported that Barthy defeated Pavlyuchenkova with two sets for one with results 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 and she rose to the last eight.
The Australian will play the next match with her up-and-coming fellow qualifier Arena Rodionova or eighth-ranked Czech Marquita Vondrova, who lost to Parti in the French Open final last year.
