Photo book "Outside Project": We, out there

Gray sky, damp cold: In November, life shifts inside. A mistake, find young nature and landscape photographers - and show in a new illustrated book good reason to dress warmly.

To motivate yourself to go out or even start a longer nature walk? Rather difficult when one of the November blows a wet and cold "Etsch" in the face.

What helps to get your bearings in these weeks: the view in the recently published illustrated book "Outside Project - Germany's New Nature Photographers". Dark clouds over hills and coasts, lakes and forests hang in them - and make Germany's landscapes look pretty good.

"One day on a sunny beach, I would always trade for a hike in the mountains and in the rain, and the mood when the clouds hang low in the mountains and occasionally clear the view of the surrounding peaks is indescribably beautiful," says Manuela Palmberger from Munich.

She is one of the eight young photographers from all over Germany who present their nature and landscape shots in the book and who unite the conviction: It does not always have to be the wide world. Even on your own doorstep there are fascinating landscapes to discover and adventure to experience.

The camera enthusiasts were also in Austria, Italy, Slovenia or Switzerland on the road - but most of their shots were created on hours of hiking or cycling in Germany. In the Harz or Black Forest, in the Fichtel- and Erzgebirge, on the coast and in the Alps.

"I love the dark, mysterious atmosphere in photos, which does not necessarily look 'evil', but can also be very impressive, and makes the landscape look very different," says Tom Fechtner from Kiel.

Of course, "Outside Project" also has sunny and bright, winter white pages. However, those who get their hands on these weeks, when summer is already far away and the snow is far from over, will see how beautiful Germany's landscapes look even under the gray skies and in the fog. And gets warm immediately.
