Established since Sunday, August 25 in Paris, differentiated traffic was lifted on Tuesday by the police headquarters. It had been decided after an episode of pollution with ozone.

The police headquarters of Paris ended this Tuesday the differentiated traffic introduced since Sunday in the Paris area, because of an episode of pollution with ozone.

"With regard to improving air quality on Tuesday, and favorable forecasts for the coming days, the @prefpolice immediately lifts the differentiated circulation measures and its control system," said the police headquarters on Twitter.

"Today's weather conditions, which are more favorable than initially expected, are leading to a reduction in the formation of ozone in the atmosphere," she said in a statement.

The differentiated traffic, that is to say reserved for the least polluting vehicles, had been put in place since Sunday in Paris and its small crown due to the "strong heat and sunshine" which favor the increase of the concentrations in ozone.

It had also been set up in Lille as of Sunday and renewed until Tuesday.
