Porto Marega striker leaves the field, victim of racist screams in Guimaraes

Malian international striker FC Porto Moussa Marega (28, 18 caps), a native of Ulis (Yvelines), left the field after being the victim of racist chants and insults from Vitoria Guimaraes supporters. He had scored on time for the Dragons, which earned him a flood of insults from the stands of local fans.

His teammates tried to persuade him to stay on the lawn for several minutes. Coach Sergio Conceiçao tried to calm him down after haranguing the local public.

The player nevertheless returned to the locker room a few minutes later, escorted by members of the Porto technical staff. He was eventually replaced by Wilson Manafa (71st).
